The forgotten refugee children
I believe that the initiative being undertaken here offers the best opportunity for effective action to support children in The Lebanon and Turkey, while at the same time putting rescue boats to use in the Aegean Sea. Passing of Lion Past District Governor, George King Thompson, MBE

It is with great sadness that we learned today of the passing of Past District Governor, George King Thompson, MBE (Larne Club). A perfect gentleman, George was greatly loved and respected by members throughout our District and beyond. George served as District Governor in 1975-1976. We extend our deepest sympathies to his wife Eilish and his family at this very sad time. Please see below the death notice and funeral arrangements.

Died October 19, 2016 at hospital after a short illness (in his 97th year). Dearly loved husband of Eilish and father of Michael, Colin, Patrick and the late Damian R.I.P, father-in-law of Marjorie and Isobel and grandfather of Niamh, Aoife and Lisa. His remains will be removed on Sunday at 11.00 a.m. from Ramsey's Funeral Parlour, Upper Main Street, Larne, to arrive at St. Anthony's Church for 11.30 a.m. Mass. Funeral afterwards to Larne Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to Antrim Coast Lions Club c/o E. W. Ramsey & Son, 5 Upper Main Street, Larne, BT40 1SY. Sadly missed always fondly remembered
